- Chosen by Voters Appendicitis can't be diagnosed without a CT Scan and can be very serious if left untreated. I had appendicitis this year, back in January. It was VERY severe pain for hours on end. Painful to the touch, though the pain seemed to subside about 8 hours later.I had to have my appendix removed so as to prevent complications.Everyone's symptoms differ however, so you should go see a doctor rather than leave it up to the internet to find out.
